  • Story

    Founded in 2008 by the Robinson family, Hattingley Valley is an English wine producer located on the edge of the picturesque South Downs National Park in rural Hampshire. Initially started as a farm diversification project, Hattingley has since gone on to become one of the top wine producers in the country.

    At Hattingley the only thing they take seriously is the winemaking, the rest they try to have a little fun with, so expect the unexpected, with their selection of rather remarkable English wines.

    Guided by the expertise of Head Winemaker Rob MacCulloch MW, the Hattingley Valley team take immense pride in the creation of exceptional quality traditional method English sparkling wines. Known for their subtle use of oak ageing, giving the wines their

    characteristic, rich, and creamy mouthfeel, Hattingley Valley’s collection of oak barrels is among the country's largest and is an integral part of the Hattingley house style.

    Hattingley Valley has established itself as one of the UK's leading wineries. With an impressive collection of over 160 industry awards and 14 trophies, they have garnered global recognition for their innovative and dynamic approach to winemaking.

    Their premium English sparkling wines are enjoyed throughout the UK and exported internationally to 16 countries.

GREYFRIARS VINEYARD

  • Story

    In 2010, the Wagstaffs purchased the vineyard and expanded to 40 acres with 54,000+ vines.

    2013, built a state-of the-art winery where all wines are made from grape to glass.

    2017, completed the 3,500 sq ft underground chalk cave with space for storing and ageing quarter of a million bottles of wine.

  • Wine Making

    Owner Mike Wagstaff developed Solera style reserve wine system for their traditional method winemaking utilizing three individual tanks of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and NV Cuvée Blend. Every year, 20-25% of the previous years blend is used to develop continuity and complexity.

    Head winemaker Oliver Key has continued the Solera style for the award winning NV Cuvee and Rose involving some of the most thoughtful winemaking in England.

    Greyfriars is a world class boutique producer of sparkling wines, having received over 65 Gold and Silver awards in the world’s most prestigious international wine competitions.

    Including Gold in the Decanter World Wine Awards for our Blanc de Blancs and the coveted English Sparkling Rosé Trophy in the International Wine Challenge for our Sparkling Rosé Reserve.
